My friend Emily did this really amazing blog about how her and her husband came to naming their children. I thought this was a really fantastic idea so I'm stealing her idea and doing it too.
This part of becoming a parent and being given the responsibility of naming your children is one of the most fun things but can also be a pretty intense process. You kind of start out by throwing around names that you like. Being married to a teacher presents a bigger challenged because if there is a student that he did not like or that gave him a hard time, that name was immediately removed from the list. When we found out we were having twins, there were so many possibilities, 2 boys, 2 girls, or a boy and a girl. We never came up with 2 boys names, in fact, boys names were the hardest for us. If they would have been 2 girls it would have been Emma and Elizabeth. Emma, just because we really loved the name and Elizabeth is after my momma and me and it means "consecrated to God" . Her middle name is Jeanne after my beautiful mother in law. We want to put the two most important women in our lives together in the name of our first daughter. A student actually gave Jeremy the suggestion of Elijah. The first time I heard it, I fell in love. His name means " the Lord is my God". His middle name is Sandor after my dad.

When we found out we were pregnant with Joshua, we just knew he was a boy but as soon as it was confirmed I told Jeremy that I wanted to name him after his brother who is in the arms of Jesus. The name is so beautiful and so powerful. It means "Jehovah saves". Jeremy struggled with it a little and asked that I give him some time to think about it. On mothers day, he gave me a card from Elijah, Elizabeth, and Joshua. It was the best mothers day gift EVER. It was a very precious moment when we asked mom and dad (Perkowski) for permission to name him after their sweet son. His middle name is Vincent after his amazing Dza Dza.

With all of our children, we knew confidently what their names would be before they were born, except with our last little angel. We first struggled with names. I loved Gracie Mae(after my aunt Judy Mae) and we loved Olivia Marie(after my cousin Teresa) or Olivia Rose(after Jeremy's grandma and aunt Bonnie and cousin Michelle.) Then towards the end of our pregnancy we threw Juliet in there as well. We even asked family for their input and to give us some help with the middle name. Mom and Aunt Lori gave us the suggestion of Lynn which I loved very much. Terry calls Linda, "Lin" and so we thought it would be great to use that spelling and that way our moms names where a part of both of our girls. But Jeremy claimed this naming for his own since I picked Joshua. He told me that he would have to see her first to know which name suited her most. It was between Olivia Rose and Juliet Lin. After the surgery, Jeremy came into the room and told me she was definitely a little Juliet Lin.

Elijah and Elizabeth are 5!! Crazy, I know. We had their birthday party on Sunday and it was a lot of fun. I will be posting pictures that Chelsea took later on but I wanted to post this video of Elizabeth. Gramma and Dza Dza got her a keyboard for her birthday and she has been so excited to start practicing. This was the first time that she tried this song and only the second time she played the piano. I was pretty impressed. Elijah got a guitar and he too is very excited to learn how to play but unfortunately I have no idea how to play or teach him. Dza Dza is going to start that soon and I will get a video of him. Enjoy.

Happy Easter Everyone!! I wanted to post some pictures of our Spring Break and Easter. Hope everyone had a great Easter.Most of you know that my kids are OBSESSED with Star Wars. Well this is Elijah with his "Luke Skywalker hair".

I'm bad at blogging...I really like facebook now so I have neglected blogger and for that I'm sorry. I guess I still gave an excuse but it did come with an apology. Here are some picture to catch you up on the "goings on" around the Perkowski house. Joshua in his jail break outfit.

Elizabeth got her ears pierced. She hardly cried at all but this was just a few minutes after and I think she was in a little bit of shock. I love that Elijah was comforting her.

My kids LOVE floor puzzles and they are ridiculously quick at putting them together. This was the first time they put this one together, then they just laid on the floor like this and talked about which planet they were going to visit when they grew up.

Jeremy has introduced the twins to Star Wars. Elizabeth is in love with all the characters and really likes the movies. Elijah is a little scared by them but he loves to wear his "Dark Vador" shirt but he will only be referred to as "Hobi(not obi) One(not wan) Kenobi(no problem saying that...). Today we took him to get his first official light saber or as he refers to it,"Hobi One Kenobi Sword". Jeremy is thrilled that his kids love star wars.

Went to the park and here are just a couple of cute pictures of the kids.

Elijah was Luke Skywalker in this picture and Elizabeth was Princess Leia. I loved the look on Elijah's face.

We went to the pumpkin patch this week with some really great friends of ours. The kids got to each pick out a pumpkin and they took a "wagon ride". The driver was a little on the shady side but Jenn told him to drive slowly and the kids really had a lot of fun. Happy Halloween everyone!

I found this pumpkin and let me tell you, it was the greatest pumpkin ever made!!!It would have been perfect for carving but it would have cost an outrages amount of money so I let it go. However, Elijah did not want to let it go, I can't say I blame him.

Homecoming is Finally Over!

Well homecoming is finally over and I have a couple of spare minutes to show off our hard work. The girls really worked their tails off putting things together this year and it really shows. Above is a picture of my student council members. Some of them have been with me for four years now. I am not sure if that makes me crazy or them? Below is an unimpeded picture of our float. It was the best float that we have ever built. We won first place in hallway decorating and in float. The girls were really excited. I am really proud of the work that they have done so far this year.

I have wanted to post these pictures for 2 weeks but it has just been a little crazy around here. Jeremy started school last week and I am watching my little Emma and another sweet little angel named Jayda. It has been quite an adjustment with 5 babies in the house but very fun. I don't get bored anymore. So the weekend before school started we went up to mom and dads for a visit. Mom made the twins Maid Marion and Robin Hood costumes. They LOVED them. Here they are getting all dressed up.

On a side note. Here is one of our big accomplishments this summer, thanks almost entirely to Uncle Josh and Auntie Jenn...All by himself. Those of you with small children know how huge this is. Elizabeth did try it once and that was enough for her but Elijah is a pro.

And here is baby Aang, Jeremy's is letting the twins watch Avatar(a Korean cartoon on Nickelodeon) so this is the name that Joshua was given. Elizabeth is Katara on the days she takes a break from Maid Marion and Elijah of course is Sokka. So proud...

It has been a really long time since I have updated and so we are going to have a lot of randomness going on. I will start with our summer. It has been WONDERFUL!!We have been spending alot of time together as a family and introducing the kids to a bunch of new things. We have been doing alot with the library(summer reading program, story times...things like that.) They love it!!It is so fun for them to go up and down the aisles and pick new books and I love it too because I get sick of reading the same books over and over again. On the reading note, Elijah has started reading. I know, you probably have to see it to believe it, but he is. I have a couple videos of him reading but they are really long so I will spare you all. Elizabeth is doing really well reading individual words and is still working on sentences(mostly the articles like the, is, and, an...). We have been doing alot of swimming and Elijah can finally swim with his floaties without needing to hold on(for dear life) to one of us. Elizabeth would rather sun bath...I will get some pictures of them the next time we go.Joshuy(as the twins call him, pronounced Josh-ew-ee)is crawling and getting into all sorts of trouble. He has started pulling himself up to standing in his crib and then gets stuck that way so it has makes nap time even more of an adventure. Here he is doing just that...sorry he looks a little rough but he just woke up.

Happy Birthday Dad!!!It was actually yesterday which as you know was also Father's Day. Happy Father's Day to all you daddy's out there. I was just thinking today how blessed we are as a whole family to be filled with some really great dad's. So thanks to all of you. Ok, back to my dad. Hope that your day was filled with love and a whole lot of fun! I am sad that we could not be there to spend it with you but here, this will make it a little better...and yes, these are pictures of our front yard that has been recently landscaped. I am sorry that this is a little belated but I wanted to post about our really great weekend in Mesquite with the family. The kids and I went up to Mesquite on Saturday so that Jeremy could have the day to run errands and get ready for prom, which went great by the way. That afternoon we went to moms company picnic. The kids got to swim and there was great food and it was fun for me to put faces with the names of the people that I hear all about from mom. Then on Sunday we were all together, minus Jason:(, to celebrate Mother's Day and best of all moms BIRTHDAY! It was so wonderful to all be together. Like mom said, I am very grateful to be able to spend time together before everyone goes off to begin the next exciting phase of their lives. Here are a couple pictures of Nala. She really is a good puppy and just as cute as can be.

Lately I have been feeling very overwhelmed as a mommy of 3. Sometimes I just need to remind myself of how far we have come. Those little angels really had to fight at the beginning but God answered our prayers and look at them now...entertaining us with their joy.

We had a great Easter in Mesquite. It was a little bitter sweet since this will be the last time we will all be together as a family for a while. Jason and Nicole are leaving on Friday to move to Connecticut. We know that they will be happy there but we are going to miss them very much.
We went to church and got to hear Dza, Dza play. It was a very beautiful service. We then went out for breakfast together as a family, which was fun. The kids did an Easter egg hunt over at the park. Terry made a wonderful dinner but I will have to say that mom out did us all with her amazing hidden talent of chocolate making. Yes, mom made HOMEMADE chocolates for everyone and let me tell you, she should open her own business. I should have gotten some pictures but they were gone pretty quick. Jeremy and I were watching Survivor and the kids were playing in the front room not really paying attention to the tv...or so we thought. This first video is for any of you who do not watch Survivor. Then check out the second video of Elijah. I swear to you all that we had nothing to do with this.

Family Fun

Some quick little updates from the Perkowski family, last week we all came down with RSV and so all the kids have been on nebulizer treatments three times a day but I think we are finally getting over all of that. Joshua has 2, yes 2 teeth, bottom front. I thought it was crazy that he was teething so early but Chelsea said that Cora got her first at 4 months as well. I would have been fine to wait on the teething process for as long as possible. Teething+RSV=no sleep for mommy or Joshua.
My Aunt Judy and Teresa were in town last week as well. It has been great having them here with us. They left today and I miss them like crazy already. On Sunday, like Shawn and Chelsea, we went to Red Rock for a family day out.(we had no idea that they were going and did not run into them but what a coincidence huh?) Like Chelsea said the weather was gorgeous, a little windy but wonderful. Here are a couple of pictures of our fun time with my family.

Teresa got them a shark tent to play in. They LOVE it. Keeps them entertained for hours. Thanks again, a priceless gift for a mom.

I have not been able to update the blog because my husband got a new computer and our kodak software was on the old computer...blah blah blah. Anyway here is a little update for you of our ever growing angels.
He is starting the whole,"I get bored with something after 15 minutes" thing. But he LOVES his exersaucer.

This was our Valentines project this year. We had so much fun. We also made cupcakes but none of the pictures turned out of those.

All about Joshua

This blog is going to be all about Joshua but since the last blog was just about Elijah and Elizabeth I thought it would be fair(for grandma of course). Joshua is ROLLING OVER!!!! I can not believe it. I took this when I went up to get him after his nap today but he has being doing this for about 3 days now. And if any of you think that I just rolled him over and took the picture...your wrong. We believe his motivation is his mobile. He is also eating rice cereal but I am not going to post any pictures of him eating because it is kind of gross and I know grandma hates it but here are some pictures of our big boy in his crib after he rolled over and then a video of my two adorable sons.

Snow and Santa...all in one week

Yep! It snowed here in Vegas. My dad says that it is the most snow Las Vegas has seen since 1929. The kids had so much fun watching it all day and then playing in it. If you ask Elizabeth what happens when it snows she will tell you that Santa is coming. I think this Christmas is going to be alot of fun with them understanding more about Christmas and what it all means. We took the kids to see Santa this year and I was sure that they would never sit on his lap let alone have a full on conversation with him...my son told him,"just bring presents, Santa." Elijah, oh course, smiled for these pictures but Elizabeth refused. She did not seem to care for it all that much but did as she was asked. Here are some pictures of their fun.

A Quick Update

Weekend with Gramma and Dza-dza

This past weekend the kids went on their first trip away from home without mommy and daddy. They spent four days with Gramma and Dza-dza. They had a blast and are still talking about all the fun things they did. They went to the park every day I think, they carved pumpkins, went trick or treating and just had some quality time with their grandparents. Mom dressed them up as Raggedy Ann and Andy for Halloween but we did not get any clear pictures of them but I think Nicole may have gotten a few so hopefully they will post those...(hint, hint). It was really great for Jeremy and I to have some time with Joshua but we missed the twins alot. Here are a couple really great pictures of their fun.
So the twins are not looking at the camera but I wanted you to see the talent that is the Perkowski's pumpkin carving. I was impressed anyway.

The Family That Rocks Together, Stays Together

The Haircut: Things have been moving so quickly around here sometimes I forget how amazingly cute my twins are. Today we took Elizabeth to get her first hair cut. I may be out of line here, but after looking at the photos that Sarah took I am pretty sure that the hairdresser is a part time stripper. I mean who owns a leopard print smock. Those things are called smocks right? Anyways Elizabeth's hair had been looking a little rough so we decided to get her hair cleaned up a little bit. As she was leaving, the hair technician asked Elizabeth if she would like a sucker... which brings us to....

The Hard Candy: Elizabeth had a puzzled look on her face when the stylist asked her if she wanted a sucker. After Sarah explained that it was candy, she was all over it. Not only was she all over it but she grabbed some loot for Elijah. Needless to say they loved them. They didn't finish them, but they loved them none the less. While Sarah and Elizabeth were gone, Elijah and I decided to play around. Which leads to...

The Hard Rock: Rock Band 2. Sarah bought Rock Band 2 for me a little while ago and we just haven't had lots of time to mess around with it. So Joshua was asleep and a light bulb lit up in my brain. I whipped out my Wii Guitar Hero guitar and strapped it on my son. Needless to say tears welled up in my eyes. He looks like a natural, and no I did not put his hands in that position. Many hours of studying my Dad playing his acoustic lead to the near perfect hand hold on his instrument. I love being a Dad sometimes.

The newest addition to our family is here. Joshua was born about three days ago and has already changed our entire world. The entire birth went without a hitch, except for Sarah's drug induced haze on Wednesday. We came home on Friday from the hospital and are settling into a routine here at home. Elizabeth and Elijah are adjusting to their baby brother and have been a little mopey, but they are excited to interact with him as much as possible. Sarah is being a real trooper and is already more mobile than I was the day after we moved. Everything is going great and we would like to thank everyone that has been praying for us and wanting news about the birth. Everyone said that since we had twins having one more baby would be a breeze. I used to think the same thing...except for the fact that we still have the twins and now we have three babies instead of two. I think this was just an oversight on some peoples parts, or maybe they were just trying to make us feel better. He is amazing and has peed on me almost everytime that I have changed his diaper. We love him and we can't wait to show him off to the world.

New Beginnings

Wow, it really is amazing how much can happen in such a short amount of time. This picture below is of our new house! We are going to be moving into it on September 13th. It has 5 bedrooms and 2 3/4 bath. We are so excited to move into a place that will comfortably fit our growing family. My dad is going to be living with us as well, which we could not be happier about. Speaking of our growing family, we also found out last Friday that I am scheduled for a c-section on October 1st. So, needless to say this will be a very busy couple of weeks for the Perkowski family.

I went to change our templet and realized that it has been like 2 months since I have updated. Not a whole lot has been going on, we have just been enjoying our summer vacation together which is ending too soon. Here are just some random pictures from this summer.

Daddy taught them to do somersaults. Elijah is really good but Elizabeth only likes to look between her legs at you. It is still really cute. I think Grandma was working on this with them this weekend.

Jeremy took this while I was in Ohio. They were watching a show and Elijah wanted to sit on Elizabeth's lap. I love that his little hand is on her shoulder.

This is Elizabeth with her potato head family. If you can see in the right corner, the potato head that is Elizabeth fell over and she could not get it to stand up. This is her being very upset about that.

Our Cali Trip

We went to California over the weekend to see baby Jane and take a small family vacation because it is going to be a while until we can get out of the house again. We had so much fun. The twins were so good in the car and behaved themselves for the most part at the house. We got there really late on Wednesday night so on Thursday we took the kids to the Zoo. We left at about 9:30 in the morning and by noon we were ready to go home. It was so hot and if it was not a giraffe, elephant or a turtle, they did not really care. But they were very well behaved. Devyn warned me that this is not a great place for pictures because you can either not see the kids faces or what they are looking at and she was right. Here is really the only good picture that I got.:(
On the way home from the zoo we picked up Uncle Michael so that he could go with Devyn and Jane to the doctor. Poor little thing had to get 4 shots. Here is a picture of Uncle Jeremy trying to make it all better... Isn't she so adorable.

Then on Friday DeEtte took us to Legoland. I was really afraid that the kids would again want to only be there for about 2 hours and everyone else would want to stay but we were there for almost 5 hours. They LOVED it. There were rides, and a water park and so many fun things to see. Here are some pictures of that fun day.

I loved this next picture so much because Connor was Elizabeth's little buddy all day. He was such a huge help with pushing the stroller, or holding onto hands, or anything we asked of him really. He is a great kid. So is Lily and you will see her cuteness in a minute.

DeEtte was so awesome to take Elizabeth on the rides because I was afraid the bars would hit my belly in a bad spot. These were the first rides they had ever been on. They went on an airplane, helicopter,boat,and safari ride. They loved every single one of them.

Lily taught Elizabeth how to be a beautiful princess. Aren't they adorable.

And here is the most adorable little baby on the planet next to my daughter. Jane is the happiest, smiliest(is that a word), most precious little angel. Here are a couple of pictures of her.

Alot Going On!

This summer, so far, has been crazy, fun, spontaneous, and hot (well today was like 105 and I think that is the worst its been so I really should not complain but...). Jeremy and I said that we were going to get the twins potty trained before the summer was over/before Joshua was here and so far it has been an adventure. The first day we made them a potty chart and told them that when they filled that up we would go to the store and pick out a special toy. Please do not make fun of my ghetto chart, I am not creative and I will never claim to be but they loved it and that is all that matters right? Anyway, the first day was a disaster and by day two Jeremy and I called it quits...I am not kidding, potty training is HELL...excuse my language but there is no other word to better describe it. Then at lunch on day two, after Jeremy and I told the kids we were going to take a break from the potty and try again next week, my sweet little daughter told us she needed to go and off she went. She has only had 2 accidents in a week and she even did really well at grandma's house this weekend. We are going to Cali on Wednesday so hopefully she will do as well there. Elijah wants NOTHING to do with the toilet. He is perfectly happy with mommy tending to his potty needs(change his diaper). But he will get there and we are not stressing over it. Sorry for the rambling. Here is a picture of Elijah and Elizabeth with their first potty chart complete(thanks almost entirely to Elizabeth, but we are still proud of what he did do.)

Summer is Here!!

And I actually do say that with joy, for now anyway...The weather has been wonderful so far and so we decided to go swimming. The babies (I still call them that too mom) loved it!! Here are a few pictures of our fun!

My dad has actually been here for a while but I am just getting around to putting up some cute pictures. Dad was really surprised at how much they have changed and grown even since February. They just love having him here. My foot stool to my glider broke and so here are my crafty boys fixing it for me. Elijah really did help with almost everything and he was a really good listener too. It was adorable to watch them. Elizabeth sat down and did not move from that spot almost the entire time my dad was working on it. I think she was a little scared. She is so funny. Oh, and I did not put them there or tell them they had to sit there and watch. They just stayed out of my dads way until he asked them to come help.

Eskimo Kisses,Chocolate,and Time Out

I am sorry that I have been putting a bunch of stuff into one blog but it seems like nothing will happen for a while then all the sudden its like crazy blogging opportunity. Anyway so here is a video of the twins giving Eskimo kisses. Make sure the volume is turned down just a little because they are screaming...I did warn you.

Yesterday I made some peanut butter blossoms for Jeremy and the kids were so good the entire time so I told them if they ate their dinner that they could have a cookie. The kisses on top were not completely dry so it was a mess.

Again, yesterday, my son decided that his cars needed a time out, so here is a video and I am sorry that it is all over the place but two year olds do not stand still for very long.

It Must be Love

So in our family alot of us have silly little obsessions. Like Darrin with the way that he loads a dishwasher, or Chelsea's obsession with the way that Cora's toys are put away (she would actually rather you leave her house a disaster then clean it up and put them away in a different place), or the way that mom will NOT drink "plastic" milk but will have it in her coffee but if she is going to have a glass then it must be from a carton, and DeEtte just did an entire blog on her latest obsessions. Now, I myself have too many to put down on this blog, and right now if you find yourself reading this and not really understanding what I am talking about then in the words of DeEtte, "shoo". But if you can relate on any level then what I am about to show you is an example of one of my obsession and the way that my husband likes to make me loose my mind with the way that he does not support my craziness. My closet is the obsession of the hour. We have a big walk in closet that I have set up with my clothes on the right and Jeremy's on the left. I have his ties and belts first then tee shirts, work short sleeve shirts, long sleeve tee shirts, long sleeve work shirts, dress shirts, then pants. I hate when there is an empty hanger on the rod and I can not stand when the clothes are not in that order. Now, I do not ask Jeremy to put his clothes away in this crazy manner, in fact I just do all the laundry and put it away so that he does not make me crazy with doing it "wrong". But tonight, I was putting the laundry away and to my absolute horror, I found this...be prepared(just for those of you who can relate, everyone else,you may officially label me nuts.)

I know, right, I mean this had be harder to do then actually hanging it up correctly. I will also say it was in the wrong place but this is worse...much, much worse.

This is going to kind of be a smorgasbord of thoughts, pictures, and stories. I want to start out saying Happy Birthday to my little nephew...he turns 3 today but he is still a baby to me. I was there the day Jonas was born and I can not believe that it has been three years since that day. Constantly entertaining. Happy Birthday Sweetpea!!

Ok, next topic, my daughters hair. I know what you are thinking, really let it go already but I have to say that today is the first day that I see some light at the end of this tunnel. She is adorable no matter what but her hair has been a thorn in my side for a long time. Here is a reminder of what she looked like a year ago and then a picture that I took this morning.

On Saturday we went to Mesquite for Easter. We had a blast!!! We got to spend some time with Nicole and Chili(her dog) and Jonas spent the whole day Sunday with us so that was great. The kids always play well together and I love for the twins to spend time with their cousin that they do not get to see very much. On Sunday the boys made lamb, carrots, rice, asparagus, and rolls which were all amazing as always. We did not get to see Rachel because she had to work the night before but we want to wish her a Happy Birthday. Hope everyone had a great Easter as well. Here are some pictures of our fun. Here they are opening their Easter baskets. For like a half an hour, Jason was blowing bubbles with the babies and they just loved it.Coloring eggs with Dza Dza.The Easter egg hunt. Elijah would pick one up and put it in his basket but when he found another one he would take one out and pick up the new one he found and put the old one on the ground in the place of the new one. It took some convincing for him to have more then one in his basket.

Spring Break

This past weekend we went to California for Devyn's baby shower and Connors baptism and birthday party. We had alot of fun spending time with the family. Jeremy and I stayed at the same resort that we stayed at last year and they gave us a very nice upgrade. It was great to spend some quality time with Jeremy as well. I know that you are all expecting pictures of the shower from me since I was the one who had her camera out the whole time but unfortunately I failed and failed miserably at getting any good picture of the adorable mom to be. However I did get some really cute ones of the decorations. DeEtte and Aunt Lori did an amazing job with everything from the decorations to the food to the games. Everything was adorable and perfectly matched Devyn's colors right down to the shirts that all of us were wearing (totally not planned though I swear). Devyn got alot of really cute things including hair bows to match every outfit that Jane has, clothes, a diaper cake, her car seat, and a bunch of other really nice things. Here are some pictures.Adorable cake, even though they left the "s" off the end of Congratulations. DeEtte said she had to have the bees, I am glad she did because they were just so cute. I am really sorry again Devyn that I did not do better with the picture taking, I really do feel badly about it.

So the other day we went to a new outlet mall that recently opened here in Vegas by the Fry's and it is has an amazing playground for the kids. Elizabeth and Elijah just loved playing in the houses and climbing and sliding. Here are some fun pictures of our day.

She absolutely loved this "horse" as she called it, she played on this for a very long time.

Emma, Josh, and Jenn met us there so the kids could play together. This was a really long caterpillar that they really liked playing on too.
Elijah would climb to the top of these stair which lead to this "dessert cafe" and every time he got to the top he would start to dance and then plop down on his bottom to go down the slide it was really funny. This is not the best picture but it was captured during the moment.

Dope Nose

So we were at Target today and I saw some of the coolest boy shirts that I have ever seen. I must start off by saying that I have been a little disappointed in boys clothes up to this point. Don't get me wrong, my wife does an awesome job of picking out some of the freshest threads this side of the Mississippi, but nothing that is just out and out cool. Not from lack of trying. Boys clothes are just boring. Then as we were walking down the aisle my eyes were drawn towards these two shirts lying on a counter. They were adorned with a blast from my childhood. It was a town made up of these characters based upon emotions. You know Mr. Happy, Ms. Giddy, Mr. Methlab, and so on and so forth. Needless to say they were just really cool and my son looks good in them as well.

Peanut and Potty

We are very excited to annonce that we are pregnant!! I had an ultrasound on Monday and we are pretty sure that we are just having one this time which is a huge relief. Jeremy and I never felt like our family was complete even though many people think that once you have one of each you are set. We were not planning this but feel that this is a gift from God and we are both very excited. We are due at the beginning of October so a fun, hot, pregnant summer for me. In other baby news, my daughter is starting potty training and today she peed on the potty for the first time. She pooped on the potty first about 2 weeks ago,which I thought was a little crazy and backwards but she is doing a really great job. I was telling Chelsea today that I can not believe that we are potty training our babies. Anyway we are really proud of her and are going to go tonight so she can pick out some big girl panties. She is so excited but she only wants "dreen,lellow,and bue, mommy." Well I hope that everyone has a great weekend. Here is the first picture of the "peanut". What a Weekend

So this has been a crazy weekend for the Perkowski's. On Friday I got all four of my wisdom teeth pulled and that left my wonderful husband to care for the babies. Mom so loving came up on Friday morning so that Jeremy could go with me and then she helped out with the babies all day. Thank you again mom. Here are some pictures of the fun that my family had while I slept the day away. So Jeremy says that all he did here was cover them up. They both came in the office crawled up on the bed and laid down. They have been going through some teething this weekend as well.

So serious...She had a really bad fever Saturday and today but she is still so cute.

Ok, warning this is a little gross but I have to share. I have been really lucky that besides being really dizzy and nauseous from the pain meds and antibiotic, I have had very little swelling and so far no pain. Play Doh

Uncle Michael and Auntie Devyn got the kids playdoh for Christmas. I love doing stuff like that with them because I am not very creative and playdoh is not nearly as messy as finger paints. They told us that we were not allowed to open it until they had left because they thought we would get "mad" but I was really excited because like I said I love doing projects with them, I just can not be the one to come up with them. Thanks guys, but remember that what comes around goes around. Your count down is almost in double digits, so exciting, we can not wait for baby Jane. It came with like 40 colors and accessaries like a rolling pin,scissors,and cookie cutters. Elizabeth picked green as her first color and Elijah picked...

Christmas Fun Part 2

This truly was one of the greatest Christmas' we have ever had. Thanks to all the great food and even greater company. We went to Mesquite on Sunday after spending some time with the family at the Mann's house. Sunday was full of playing and relaxing, spending time together as a family. Monday night we had the traditional Christmas Eve dinner which as always was amazing. One of the many things that I love about being married into a Polish family is the traditional Oplatek(which means Holy Bread in Latin). This is a time where we read a story and some scripture and then we each take a piece of the oplatek and share it with everyone else along with a hug and words of thanks and appreciation for who they are. One of the things that the story said this year was that this is a time for forgiveness and once we have forgiven others that we are to never again remember the wrong. I thought that was so amazing and something that is so important for all of us to do. I probably am not explaining it very well but I hope that you get the point. It is a very neat time for the family and one of my favorite parts of the Christmas season. Christmas Day came and went way too quickly but it was great watching everyone open their presents especially the kids. We then had dinner of Pirogi, Kielbasa, sweet potatoes, ham,and rolls. Everything was so good and it makes it even more special to know that it all was made by the hands of our family (Terry,Jeremy,Jason,and Jordan...mom and I did a few but we mostly took care of the babies).Thank you guys for a wonderful Christmas and for all the great memories. Christmas Fun Part 1

Christmas seems to be really drawn out for us. I think that having the twins birthday at the beginning of December makes it feel like a month long event. I am not complaining, really, I am not but it makes it hard after the Christmas festivities are over because the babies keep asking for "pwesents". Spoiled little pumpkins...along with the "terrible twos" syndrome that my children wasted no time embracing. Anyway, my Aunt Judy and cousin Teresa sent Christmas gifts for all of us with my dad and we spent one evening opening all of them. The kids had so much fun. They kept saying "ooo" and when asked if they wanted to open another present Elizabeth would say"yeah okay". Thank you guys again for everything. Here are some pictures of all the fun.

Christmas Tag

I loved this idea about Christmas ornament tagging but this year we had to get a very small tree because we just do not have any room for a normal size tree. So I thought that I would expand with ornament tag to a decoration tag as well. Here are a few pictures of some ornaments and decorations that have alot of meaning to us. My mom bought this ornament for me the first Christmas that I moved into my own apartment. It is so her style which makes me love it that much more.

Jeremy and I made these at a pottery painting place when we were still pregnant. We wanted their first Christmas ornaments to have a personal touch.

My mom loved advent calenders and she would always put one up for me with candy and on special days there would be a piece of paper with a note saying that I had a present to open. This year we bought one for the twins so that I can keep that tradition going.

Last but not least, this is a snow globe that the Perkowski's got Jeremy and I the very first Christmas we were together. It is beautiful and the babies love to hear the music and watch the "snow" fall.

Happy Birthday Twins!!!

Today our sweet little angels are 2 years old. It has been an amazing 2 years. Mom and I were talking on Saturday about how much they have been through and how far they have come. Looking at them now, I sometimes "forget" how difficult the first months of their lives were but God has truly blessed us with these two beautiful and healthy babies!

On Saturday we had a party for them at Shawn and Chelsea's house. We all had such a great time and we really appreciate Shawn and Chelsea allowing us to use their home. Elijah got a bunch of cars which are his favorite things in the whole world right now and Elizabeth got a ton of babies which is her favorite thing. They also got a sit-n-spin from the Mann's and a ton of books! Daddy and Mommy got them a kitchen that is by far the coolest thing I have ever seen. Mom made the cakes and as always, they were amazing in both taste and design. Thank you everyone for coming and all of the help to make their day so special and fun. Here are some pictures.

One of my new favorite pictures. I think Elijah hates the flash or something because 90% of the pictures that I take of him, he ends up with that same look on his face.

Chelsea took alot of the pictures for us which we really appreciate but for some reason when I try and post any of the pictures that came from her camera it gives me an error message. So when we figure out the problem (which I know is something that I am not doing correctly) I will post the pictures of the cakes and of the twins opening presents. Tradition

When I married Sarah I never thought of all the ways that my life would change. Marriage is the joining of two lives into one delicious cohesive milkshake, probably chocolate. Tradition is one of the most important things to Sarah and I, and this Thanksgiving we decided to pick up one of the things that Sarah's mom used to do with her every turkey day. Betsy, Sarah's mom, was a very creative person and she would always have some kind of craft for her family to work on Thanksgiving Day. So the Perkowski's decided to incorporate this very same activity into our festivities this year, and I must say that I was impressed with the results.

This is Jordan and I hard at our work. Jordan created another masterpiece that celebrated his one true love.....World of Warcraft.

This is my mom hard at work on her second ornament. Her first on is the angle that is located at the top of the picture.

This one is mine. And I must say it is super sexy.

My dad blew us all out of the water in his true artistic fashion.

Six Things About Sarah:
1. She stole a car when she was a Sophmore. This is a long story that she will have to tell you. Lets just say that she is not allowed to drive in the state of Ohio.
2. Sarah was a drama geek in high school (I have pictures to prove it)
3. Sarah has the most beautiful eyes that I have ever seen. They seem to change depending on her mood. Some have even said that they glow red when she is mad. But most of the time I could spend hours staring into them.
4. Sarah begs for "belly button time" (She likes to stick her finger in my belly button)
5. We both ran up $300 phone bills when we first started talking. Seriously we would talk for hours on end. She would stay up all night with me then go to work the next day. What a trooper!
6. Sarah has one of the most giving hearts that I have ever come in contact with. I seriously think that she would do anything for anybody. "Hey, Homeless guy! You need a place to stay? Why don't you come live with us!!!!" Those of you that think the above is a joke I swear that it is not. It is one of the things that I love most about her.

Ok, now 6 things about Jeremy...
1.Jeremy HATES, I mean HATES talking in front of people. I find this every interesting for two reasons. One, he is a teacher, he talks in front of people all day long. Two, he is the most amazing speaker. He has such a way with words and his delivery of those words are just as amazing.
2.Jeremy loves those huge furniture/home appliance stores. When we were dating we would go to the Great Indoors in Summerlin and pretend we were picking out our kitchen, living room...so on and so forth. He really has great style.
3. Jeremy loves foam soap...but not the fruity kind at Bath and Body Works(he will "deal with it but...")no, no he loves the childrens pump and likes it even better when its colored(blue is his favorite, I think)
4.Jeremy's major in college was History not English. He has only ever taught English.
5.Jeremy often says that I married him for his mother...depending on conversation that we are having at the time, often I tell him that is the truth.
6.If Jeremy were a girl he would have been named Sunshine Rose. This is not a lie.Ask Linda if you do not believe me.

That was so much fun. We are tagging Mom and Devyn and Michael.(hopefully this will force Devyn and Michael into starting a blog sooner rather then later...we will see.)

So in less than one month our BABIES are going to be 2 years old. When our hard drive crashed we lost all of the baby pictures from birth to one year but my dad had alot from Christmas last year when we went home and I thought that I would put up some comparison pictures. It is amazing how much they have grown.She has the same amount of hair then as she does now...

So I REALLY and I mean REALLY screwed up!! Who knew that it was going to be 95 degrees in October??? Anyway, when I got the costumes I never thought that it would be this hot and so sadly we did not have a very good halloween. On Monday we went to Shawn and Chelsea's church for a trunk-or-treat which was alot of fun however our kids were AWFUL. I blame it on how hot they were and it was past their bed time. Jeremy told me on the way home that he was never taking our children out of the house again, and yes it was that bad. I felt bad for Shawn and Chelsea...but on a happier note Chelsea made chilli for trunk-or-treat and it was sooo good. Here are some pictures that we were able to get in between the screaming and crying.Hope everyone elses halloween was better then ours.

Super Fun Weekend

On Sunday we went to Mesquite. We had such a great time. The twins and Jonas played together all afternoon. Jonas is really growing up and plays and shares so well. Grandpa and Uncle Jordan built a sandbox for the kids in the backyard and they all loved playing in that together. The only complaint I have is that it is still WAY too hot. But other than that we had a really great time. Here are some really cute picture.

Today we went to My Gym with Shawn, Chelsea and Cora. For those of you who do not know what that is, it's kind of like Gymboree, where kids can play, climb and jump. They have classes which is what Chelsea and Cora do but we went for an "open gym" today and we had a blast!! Here are a couple really cute pictures. Hope everyone has a great weekend.

The other day I was giving myself a pedicure(it was hardly a pedicure more like I painted my toenails but anyway) and Elizabeth was really interested. So I painted her toenails. Jeremy was really mad and mom was shocked but it was really fun. She held so still and just sat there on the floor while they dried. Here are the results.

Well, its all over with and we have to say that we are very glad. Jeremy and all the kids worked so hard and it showed!! Thank you so much Jason for being there to help Jeremy, I know that he probably would not have gotten everything done without you!!These are the student counsil girls. They are just about as sweet as can be!! They called me Mrs.Perkowski...that was crazy weird.

Finger Painting

Today the babies finger painted for the first time and we had so much fun. At first Elijah was freaking out about getting his hands dirty but he evently got over that. Elizabeth tried to eat the paint once and got upset when I told her no but she too got over it and had fun. Here is a video and some pictures of the fun.

Most of you know that Jeremy is the sophomore student council advisor. This is the second year that he has done this with the same group of kids. He had a choose to either remain the freshman advisor(which is what he was last year) or move up with the same group of kids and he choice to move up. He loves these kids and although it is so much hard work he knows it is worth it. They have been working on putting together a float and decorating their halls. I wanted to post for you a picture of just the back drop for their float. Shawn drew the castle for them but the kids did all the painting...I am so impressed!!! Next Friday is the homecoming football game and they will be displaying the floats during half time. I can not wait to see the finished product. Shawn, Chelsea and Cora are going to come with us and we will get alot more pictures then.

Papa's Here!!!

My dad is here visiting for a couple of weeks. He and a friend of his drove cross country for fun and is now here with us. The twins remebered him which made him very happy and of course Elizabeth has him wrapped around her pinky already. So much so that today after they woke up from their nap he changed her poopy diaper, which most of you know is not something that my dad does...that is one of the reasons he loves being a grandpa, no dirty diapers. It was precious and I am still in shock from it! Anyway here are some pictures of the babies with their papa.

Growing Like Weeds

Because we are around our children everyday, sometimes it is not as apparent to us how much they are growing or have grown. Tonight I put them into jammies that "papa" bought for them at the beginning of the summer and at that time they were HUGE. They are 3t but a one piece and the last time I tried them on them they were way too long and really baggy on the sides. Tonight however I was very shocked to see how well they fit. It is shocking to me what our two BABIES are learning to do all on their own. Elizabeth practically dresses herself, infact last night I was folding the clothes and she picked out her outfit for today...shirt and pants and they matched, I was impressed. Elijah loves to brush his hair after his bath and most of the time he does a really great job but this time he got the brush going the wrong way...so cute.

He started off pretty good then....

So I know that I have done alot of laundry basket pictures but this one is the histerical. Elizabeth just goes along for the ride and Elijah is literally screaming "Wow". Kids are so much fun!!! Sorry "mama" I know this is kind of an Elijah blog but the last one was mostly about Elizabeth so I was trying to make up for it. How did I do?

New Year

As most of you know Jeremy started school again on Wednesday and I have the privilege of watching another baby. I never thought that I would be doing this as a "job" but it is what God has called me to do and I am loving it. The baby's name is Emma and she is 7 months old, she is so cute and the twins just love her and she really likes Elizabeth. It has kind of become a joke at school because Emma's parents not only work with Jeremy but they are also English teachers so all of the parents of the children that I watch are in the English department...they call me the English department daycare...not sure if that is good or bad, but once again I must say I love it. I wanted to post some pictures of her and of course our two angels.

Last week the babies started to not like their chicken as much and so Jeremy had the idea to give them BBQ sause to dip it in. Elijah LOVES it but Elizabeth would rather have ketchup...anyway, tonight I was making cookies and Jeremy was cooking their vegetables and neither of us were watching them like we usually do but we really only took our eyes off of them for a minute and this is what happens...

Sadly, what I did not get a picture of is the plate stuck to his forehead...anyway, hope it brings a smile for someone.

So my daughter has started this new thing where she will do something wrong(and she knows its wrong)and then say "Ut-Oh". I know that it is spelled "uh" but she says "ut" which makes it that much harder to discipline her because it comes out just so dang cute. Today she crawled up on the couch all by herself which she knows she is not allowed to do and then of course did her thing...I had to get a picture of it. The other funny thing is that after Elizabeth says it, Elijah says it too. For those of you who have not heard my son say "uh-oh", it is about the cutest thing ever(grandma's favorite thing that he says.) Sorry it has been so long since we have blogged...been very busy here. My dad has been here visiting and will sadly be leaving tomorrow. The babies have loved having their "papa" here and will miss him very much when he leaves. My dad is not in any of these picture but he is the culprit behind the taking of them. Ok, so my family has been here for a couple of days now but I am just now getting around to blogging. On Wednesday we all went downtown and I think that I saw more of the Strip in one day then I have in the entire five years that I have lived here. Wow, they are the true tourist. Jeremy went to get the babies up from their nap today and this is how he found his daughter. He called me in to take a look for myself and the last time that he did that we ended up shaving our daughters head so I was reluctant to see what my children had gotten themselves into this time. Nothing as dramatic as the head shave but very funny.

This is where we found her shirt. She had thrown it all the way across the room. Papa(which is what the babies call my dad)says,"Get that girl into sports". Chelsea and I have decided that both of our girls should play soccer. When Cora kicks a ball, you had better clear the room of all breakables and Elizabeth does pretty well at that also.

We have wanted to do this for a while because, as we all know, it is the best and probably the funnest way to keep in touch. Our lives are so crazy and sometimes it is hard to take the time to call or even e-mail so this is our way of saying HEY to all of you who we have not talked to in so long.

As most of you know, our little family has recently had so real hair catastrophes, but last night we saw light at the end of the tunnel. When we found out that we were having a boy(and a girl but that is not prevalent to this story...)Shawn and Jeremy talked about how cool it would be to give Elijah a mohawk. Well that "dream" is now a reality. Here are a couple picture of my sweet little boy with his mohawk.

Elizabeth's hair is slowly growing back and I think that it may even come in darker then before. She has adjusted well to this drastic change and does not seem to mind when her brother rubs her head and laughs about a hundred times a day. Here are a couple pictures of her.
